Goradia said adding that it is the responsibility of the present generation to act as torchbearers and carry the legacy of our past. Guest of honour, Mr. Jagannath Iyer graced the gathering and spoke to emphasise the importance of Sanskrit especially in the coming years. There is a probability of Sanskrit becoming a necessity in many fields including computer programming, he said. The rules and the criteria for judgment were explained to the participants.

The competition had three categories, namely- essay writing for classes 9 to 10, story writing for students of class 8 and picture description for students of class 7. The prizes sponsored generously by The Prafull Foundation, were unveiled and thereafter the participants were escorted to their respective venues.
